Something wonderful is on the wing

Arriving Summer 2027

May I have your attention please

From the Mountain Bluebird to the Greater Sage-Grouse, Idaho is already home to some of the most remarkable birds in the country. And twice a year, even more birds cross entire continents to be here. That's worth stopping for.

The Idaho Bird Festival is built around that invitation. It uses birds as a doorway into attention itself and from there into culture, community, and connection. It’s not just about identifying species or recording sightings, although that’s part of the thrill too. We’ll go a bit deeper than that and explore the relationships that birds open up —to the land, to the people standing next to you holding binoculars at 6 AM, to ancient traditions way older than “birding”, and to the quiet, non-transactional experience of bathing in the awe of the wild, natural world.

The Idaho Bird Festival treats birds as kin worth listening to and asks participants to bring that same posture of presence and reciprocity into everything else the weekend holds. We can’t wait to share more with you soon.
